The committee also recommended that the New Zealand Racing Calendar be consulted ..to see that there was no clashing-of fixtures with race meetings. A further recommendation was that, if necessary, the Australian team should not remain in Auckland after the last match,. but if the steamer arrangements were not suitable, the team should come to Wellington and depart from here. The report was adopted, with the Tecommendation that a match should be played in Southland, arid that, if necessary, the Kaitangata match be dropped to allow of this. _ The New Plymouth Football Association sent a cheque for the sum of £75, being the amount of guarantee for the match against the Australian. team. The following -sub-committees were appointed,/in connection with the^Australian visit :—ltinerary : Messrs. Fordham, F. Campbell, and B. L. Salmon. Advertising : Messrs, ,F. Campbell, W. G. A request was received from Australia that the New Zealand Association .should reconsider the matter of the Queensland expenses to Sydney and the matter of a portion of the profits being allocated to the Australian association. The writer suggested that the • association should make the Queensland expenses the first charge against the gross profits, and that they should be allow«d 25 per cent, of the remainder towards the paying of allowances. After some discussion regarding a proposal to make a grant of £50, which was subsequently withdrawn on account of the guarantors' position in the matter, it was decided that the Australian Association be informed thai its proposals could not be agreed to, and that the original financial arrangements should be adhered to.
