V.M.C.A. CONCERT.
A successful concert was given in tile Assembly Hall of the V.M.C.A. last night by Mrs. Albert Russell's Dramatic Party, the object of the entertainment being to raise funds for the renovation of the hall. A one-act piece, "Who Laughs Last," was cleverly played by Mr. and Mrs. Horace' Book. The Harmonic Quartette earned encores for their numbers, and Mr. Albert Russell was, as usual, very amusing in his songs. During the interval, Mr. G. Silver, membership secretary of the Y.M.C.A.,'took the opportunity to speak of thei V.M.C.A. Boys' Division. He urged parents to enrol their boys in the V.M.C.A., whether they required to learn sports or physical culture, or wanted healthy amusement in the evenings. The second half of the programme was occupied by an amusing one-act play, "The Emancipated Ladies' Club."
