JOCKEY'S APPEAL DISMISSED

The judges of the New Zealand Racing Conference (Sir George Clifford, Sir William Hen-fes, and Mr. P Miller) have Raven their decision in the appeal by C. Stephens, jockey, against the decision of the Wanganui District Committee in deciding that he was guilty of a breach of Rule 1, Part XXV., of the Rules of Racing, and increasing the penalty of three months' suspension imposed upon him by the Marton Jockey Club to suspension for 'six 'months as from 3rd January, 1922:,

In their -judgment, the judges state that, they do not feel justified in overruling the decision of the Wanganui District Committee, in view of the unanimous finding of the Judicial Committee of the Marton Jockey Club, who had every, opportunity of coming to a correct conclusion on facts which occurred under their personal observation. They therefore dismissed the appeal.
