Wellington citizens were able to-day to enjoy bright sunshine, and a light northerly breeze was blowing which added to the pleasantness of the conditions. For the next 24 hours, however, the Government meteorologist holds out pessimistic prospects. They , are for squally and changeable weather, with rain probable generally, and for westerly winds, strong to gale, northward of Kawhia and East Cape,. and moderate to strong southerly- winds with a westerly tendency elsewhere. The barometer at 9 a.m. snowed a temporary rising tendency.
