VALMARIE SOLD BY AUCTION

The schooner ■Valmarie was sold to-day by auction as she now lies at Farewell Spit. Messrs. J. H. Bethune and Co. conducted the sale on behalf of the underwriters, and the vessel was sold in thrco lots—the hull, the cargo, and one of the ship's lifebdats. The Irall and the cargo were bought by Mr. E. Tasker, of Nelson, for £135 and £80.respectiveIy, and the lifeboat was sold to Mr. F. H. Williams for SH ss. There was o large attendance at the sale. The hull was insured for £6000, and the cargo of hardwood for £3300.
