THE WOOL SALES
FINAL OFFERING AT CHRIST CHURCH
ANIMATED DEMAND FOR CROSS-
BRED.
(»T TELEGRAM!.—PRioS ASSOCIATION.)
CHRISTCHURCH, 27th March
The fourth and final wool sale of the season was held to-day, when 9934 bales were offered. The quality was very moderate, there being a big proportion of seedy and stained wool entered. The sale showed a distinct improvement on the February auction for all classes, the advance representing from par to three farthings, and iip to a penny in the case of good halfbreds. A eleara-nce of from SO to 85 per cent, of the total catalogue was made. The bulk of the buying was j done by Bradford representatives. j A satisfactory feature of the sale was the animated demand for crossbred, it being easily the best coarse wool sale of the season. The competition .of local mills was restricted to merinos and crossbreds. The bidding was remarkably keen throughout, and considering the quality of the offering it was tile most satisfactory sale of the present series.
