WELLINGTON CLUB
The activities of the Wellington Golf Club are dealt with in the annual report to be presented at the annual general meeting next month. The present membership is showing as follows:— Playing—Men. 164, ladies 75. total 239; supernumerary, 17; limited,' 26; country,,' 36; non-playing, 109; junior, 43; visiting, 2; tennis, 18. Entrance fees during the year amounted to £181 13s, to which was added £7 7s 3d from last year. Of this £97 12s 6d was applied in rednction of money owing on mortgages, and tbe balance £91 8s 2d) car. rifid forward for similar application next year. The revenue account shows a credit balance for the year of £307 16s lOd. The sum of £202 10s lOd was added to plant and furniture account, being the cost of two new mowing machines and a horse; 10 per cent, was then deducted for depreciation; £213 4s Id was added to buildings, being the coat of additions to the club house and outbuildings, and 4£- per cent, was then written off the total for depreciation. Wages account includes about £50 for labour already spent on tennis court, and also includes fcho wages for an extra man during three months of the spring. Reference is niade to tbe New Zealand championship, the Easter tourney, and the club competitions, the prizewinners in the latter being detailed. The position of debenture holders was unchanged, as, following the discussion at the last annual meeting, the special representatives had not brought forward any proposals. Alteration of rules is to be considered at a special meeting to be held at the conclusion of the annual meeting.
