BERHAMPORE CLUB,

" It is pleasing to record that the past season was the must successful one since the inception of the cluh," stales the annual report of the, Borhampore Football Club. In spite of heavy expenditure, the club's finances were on a verj sonnd footing. Tho Club inaugurated a scheme giving playing .membors authority to enrol honorary members at a subscription of 2s 6d. This exceeded all expectations, and realised an amount of £13 7s 6d. The club commenced the season with a credit balance of £46 8s lOd, and now showed a- credit balance of £76 2s 3d. The membership for the season was the highest on record, being: Playing members 101, honorary membors 107, officials 43; total 251. Teams were entered in the following grades.—Senior, junior, third, fourth, and fifth.' The club experienced a very successful season on the playing field, and had every reason to feel proud of the high positions occupied by the various grade teams. The senior team showed vastly improved form, and, though disorganised towards the end of. the season on account of • injuries to players, it finished in fourth position in the championship—a highly creditable performance for the second year in senior football. The club team won the- senior seven-a-side tourney. Tho third-class team held the best record for the season. " They were deemed very unfortunate," states the report, "in not winning the championship, and were the only team to go through the preliminary round without a defeat, and finished up the season with only one defeat. (The winners of the championship, Upper Hntt, had threo defeats.) Members of the team played a prominent part in the third-class representative team, six of them securing places. The great success of this team is largely due to the nntiring attention given them by Mr. Fred. Ru3sell.

The club played a prominent part in representative teams, the following players sienrihg places: Senior A representative team, S. Standen, D. Matheson, W. Malin ; senior B representative team, N. .Walters, B. Gibson, H. Whiterod; iunior \representative team, A. Pope, A. Scott, jR. Christie: third-class representative team, C. Hester, G. Lane, C.
