COMMERCIAL TRAVELLERS
ASSISTANCE FOR THE BLIND,

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day. .The Commercial Travellers Conferenea received a report on the work done during the year on behalf of blinded soldiers and sailors. There was a balance of £3700 in hand, and £670 been received recently from the Canterbury association, the proceeds of a benefit trotting meeting.. The trustees had assisted nine of the twenty-four blind men, and the association had, in every place where there was a blind soldier or sailor, a representative who saw that the man lacked nothing. The Ancient Order of Druids had £600 in hand earmarked for benefit for those blinded on service, and the association had applied for the ■money, as it was the™.only fund apart from the National War Funds Council authorised to actfor the men. It was decided that the Canterbury - association ■should be represented on the board of trustees. Mr. Thompson (Auckland) was electedl president, and it was agreed that the next conference should be held in Auckland.
