LATEST LONDON QUOTATIONS.

The High Commissionerj cabling on 4th March, describes the London market as firm with brisk demand for unsalted, but very slow for salted. Present quotations are :—New Zealand.—Salted, 136s to 140s to 142s per cwt (Is 2^d, Is 3d to Is 3£d per lb); unsalted, 138s to 142s ■per cwt (Is 2^d to Is 3£d per lb), exceptional, 144s per cwt (Is 3=jd per lb). Australian.—Salted, 128s to per cwt (Is l£d to Is 2^d per lb) ; unsalted, 128s to 132s per cwt (Is If d' to Is 2^d •per lb). Argentine (slow). —112s to 122s per cwt (Is to Is Id per lb), Danish (slow).—l6Bs to 172s per cwt (Is 6d to Is 6id per'lb).

The cheese market is slow, and lower prices have been accepted,. Towards end of this week New Zealand coloured selling down to 98s per cwt (10^d per lb) ■and whits 84s per cwt (9d per lb). Official quotations are;—English.—Finest farmers', very scarce, 135s to 145s per cwt (Is 2|d to Is 3id per lb). New Zealand.—Coloured 966 to 100.? per cwt .(10id to lOfd per lb), white 84s to 86s per cwt (9d to 9^d per lb. Australian.— Whits 80s to 82s per cwt (Bid to BJd per lb). Canadian.—Coloured, 100s to 104s per cwt (IOJd to Hid per lb), white 96s to 102s per cwt (10£ dto lid per lb). Estimated stock of-New Zealand and Australian cheese in London. Liverpool, and Bristol on Ist March : 55,900 crates, and Canadian and U.SA. 56,000 boxes.

Messrs. Dalgety and Company, Limited, report having received the following cablegram from their London office, under date- 3rd instant: —"Butter. — Market steady at present prices. There is more demand for salted than unsalted. Wo quote New Zealand salted at 140s, ■Queensland 130s, Danish 1725, finest Australian salted 1325, unsalted 1325. Cheese.—Market slow, New Zealand coloured 96s to 100s, white 84s to 86s. Australian, white 80s to 825."
