KAPITI
fO Til IDItOR.
_ ■ Sir,—J think' your^criticism re this island is very unfair to me. Here I and my numerous progeny have been Irving in security many years past) enjoying to our utmost the good things to ba found on this island, along with our friends the sheep and opossums, but now the caretaker and some., of his friends are shooting at us, compelling us to take refuge down the great steep cliffs, where the sun is hot and the young forest trees on which -we live scarce. / All this fuss is-just, because a visit'is expected from the Advisory Board. We will esteem it a favour if you will please say nothing more about us, and leave us to the kind, fatherly care of :the Lands Department.—l am, etc., ! BILLY GOAT. Kapiti, 4th March. '
