HEMP MARKET DULL.
The local hemp market Is dull, buyers from all quarters being described as absolutely indifferent. Production is" not being pushed in the Manawatu. The High Commissioner reporting on the 4th March, describes the Manila market as quiet and steady. Grades "H"and ''J" quoted £37 10s to £38' per ton value. New Zealand market quiet, and demand absent. High-points spot offered at £34 10s per ton. March-May shipments high-points quoted £34 10a pc» ton; sellers, fair, ( £35 10s per ton value.
