About eighty "members and friends of the staff of L. T. Watkins, Limited, journeyed 'to Maidstone Park yesterday for the ninth annual picnic of the firm. ■ The sports programme resulted as follows:—L. T. Watkins Ladies Handicap, Miss Asplet 1, Miss Le Comte 2, Miss E. Winter 3. Apprentices' Race, F. Nelson, 1. Returned Soldiers' Race, W. Huxtable 1, W. White 2, S. Philpott 3. L. T. Watkins Handicap, W.
Alexander!, P. D. Barcham 2 T H. Porter 3. Cigarette Race, Miss Ihle and ,W. White. Ladies' Sack Race, Miss H. Smith 1; Miss M. Smith 2. .Ladies Naildriving 1 Competition, Mrs Jupp 1, Mrs. Lister 2. Tug-of-War, the rest of staff defeated compositors Luncheon and tea were served in the shade of awningo. At tne conclusion of the sports Mr. Watkins welcomed the staff and their friends and made appreciative reference to the loyalty of the staff at all times.
