PALMERSTON N., 4th March. The recent lengthy spell of dry and hot weather terminated on Thursday afternoon, and during the night very heavy rain fell. For the 24. hours ended at '9 o clock on Friday morning 1.16 inches fell being more than for the whole of February, when only .8 inch was registered. The thermometer dropped no less than. 22 degrees on Thursday nig-ht., < The Campbell-street School Old Boys' Association has decided to hold a reunion for tho purpose of commemorating the school's 50 years' jubilee. College-street School pupils were to have held their annual picnic at Plimmerton on Friday, a special train having been arranged for, but owing to the report that heavy rain was falling at Plimmcrton, the outing was postponed.
