The ,olub bowling championship of the Wairarnpo was played on Saturday between iVlasterton Club and Carlortou Four rinks .from each club met, and, after an exciting same in which Carterton led till tho last few heads, Masterton won on tho aggregate by six jjoinls. In the senior cricket competition on Saturday Masterton defeated Pirates by 7 .wickets, and United defeated Carlton' by 9 wickets and 3 runs. One criminal and one divorce case are so far set down for hearing at the coming sittings of the Supreme Court in Masterton. * Mrs. Jessie Feo M'Laren, wife of Hugh Stanley M'Laren, of Hinakura, sheep farmer, was on Saturday adjudged bankrupt. ' • The Wairarapa Returned Soldiers' Association has a credit balance "of £155 17s 3d. It was understood that, as a result of an appeal by officials who were superseded, Mr. W. J. Jackson, who was recently transferred from tho Masterton Post Office as postmaster at Ahuriri, is to be re-trans-ferred, possibly to Masterton. Miss B. Spellman, who has been on a visit to her parents in Ireland, has returned to Masterton. The Revs. J. T. Mackv and G. T. Brown left this morning for Wellington to attend a meeting of the Presbyterian Chaplains' Committee.
