"CONE OF FIRE"
Reefrence was made in the article on rifle shooting, "Critical Times," in yesterday's Post to the remarks of Mr. H. T. Marshall, president ,of the D.R.A., on the military idea of teaching rifle shooting. His views, expressed on the "cone of fire" principle were not quite accurately interpreV according to the contest; The point '*«Sf. Marshall wished to make was that the military idea prior to the war was apparently to produce average shots, with a view of sustaining a good "eono of fire" against any target that might offer, but at the present time it was qwestionable whether the view should not bo altered, in the light of the experience of the late war, in the direction of producing more 1 individual shots.
