The second day's events of the Nelson Jockey Club's Meeting are being held in beautiful jveather, and there is a large attendance. Results:—
Trial Stakes, of 100 soys; five furlongs.—Stream, 7.7, 1; Redspme, 9.0, 2; Maropa, 9.0, 3. All started. Won by a length, half a length between second and third. Time, lmin ssec.
Maitai Trot, of 125 soys; two miles.— Disappearance, 16sec, 1; Mahene, 16sec, 2; Tawera, 14sec, 3. Scratched : Dolly Dillon, Lady Freda, Revolia, Bennie Dillon, Jenny Wood. Won by a length and a-half, with two lengths between second and third horses. Time, smin 4 2-ssec.
Redwood Memorial, of 280 soys; one mile.—Esperance, 8.10, 1; American Beauty, 8.1, 2; Matatua, 7.11, 3. Scratched : Princess Pat. Won by a length and a-quarter, a length and ahalf between second and third. • Time, lmin 43 3-ssec.
