The president assured the visitors of the sympathy of the Church. It was decided to ask congregations to take up a retiring collection for the Russian Famine Fund; , It was reported that the centenary.' fund was now £36,580. . : The conference agreed that the' Central Committee should be a New Cen- , tury Committee to- study the future work of the Church and report under, the ■ headings of "Spiritual," "Aggressive," "Educational," "Social," "Philanthropic," and "Generat;" and make progress reports to "the next synods. .^ : A motion "was carried favouring church union and expressing a conyic- > tion that the best, and speediest path \ to union lay in closer association in religious activities at home and oiKthe miision field. • ■:" : . Conference affirmed its abhorrence of war and its fullest sympathy with, the objects of the League of Nations. :
