MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE
MEETING.
There were present at' the monthly meeting of the Boys' Institute and S. A. Rhodes Home for Boye, v Mr. G. A. Troup (in the chair), Mrs. J. ■ M'Kerrow, 'Messrs. W. A. PaTton, J. M. Mprice, B.Sc, G. E. Brown, C. S. Moore," Dr. M'Laurin, W. I. Gibson, J.-S. Murray, D. Blake, and.the Director*(Mr. J. W. Butler).
The Director reported that the attendances had been very large ■ since the vacation, the library especially being overcrowded. The president's and director's annual rerjprte were read and adopted. The past year has been one of the most .^successful in the history of the Institute. New branches of work have been undertaken, the medical corrective class being especially successful. The membership has increased from- 504 to 608. The popularity of the. tepid tath was evidenced by the fact that, the attendances. during the year numbered 26,106, the year being a record one, both, in attendance and financially. 'During the month of February the attendances have been unusually large, an average of over 1100 each week. Appreciative reference was made to the work of the matron and director in connection with •the boarding establishment. . ;
It was resolved to hold the annual meeting of the Institute on Tuesday, 21st March. The Mayor, Mr. R. A. Wri?ht,! will be asked to preside, and special invitations will be extended to representative citizens, and an oprjor'tunitv to witnessi the work beinat done ■for the boys of the city -will be given. .
