Mr. 0. Buddie,, a well-known Auckland solicitor, arrived at Wellington by the Rimuta,ka from London to-day.

Mr. and Mrs. F. W. S. Male, of South Wellington, have returned from a visit to the Cold Lakes.

Mr. W. H. Morton, City Engineer, has returned to Wellington after three weeks' holiday spent in Sydney and Melbourne. His general health has greatly improved.

The Rev. Father Sehaefer, of the staff of St. Patrick's College, will leave next month s to connect at Sydney with tRe Ormonde for London. He will be accompanied by Mr. Ivan Hjorring, of Dunedin.

The death is announced from Dunedin v of Mr. E. S. Paterson, of the firm of N. and E. S. Paterson, Land and Estate Agents. Deceased was week-ending at Warrington, where he was seized with acuto appendicitis.

Mr. 0. V.. Houghton, formerly manager for the New Zealand Shipping Company tit Auckland, returned by th« Rimutaka from London to-day. Mr. Houghton, accompanied by Mts. Houghton, has been spending a holiday in the Old Country.

Mr. J. J. Virgo, honorary secretary of the British Empire Union and representative of the World's Alliance of Young Men's Christian Associations, which has its headquarters at Geneva, Switzerland, arrives in Wellington by the Paloona tonight on a visit to New Zealand branches of the V.M.C.A. He is accompanied by Mrs, Virgo. . ■

Dr. H. E. Tresidder, of Onehunga, died at his residence last week following upon a severe attack of influenza during the epidemic period. Dr. Tressider was born at Agra, India, being the son of a surgeon-general in the Indian Army. Educated at Dulwich College, London, he went to Guy's Hospital, and from there, at the age of 24 years, emigrated to Australia. He held the rank of captain at one time in the New South Wales Volunteers. Dr. Tresidder practised at Coonamble and Dubbo for many years, and came to N«w> Zealand in 1905. Deceased was 60 years of age. He is survived by a wife and adult family.
