Early in the fifteenth century the Emperor Charles V. gave Hector Bothen, his chief Master of Horse, iron mines, watercourses and forests spread over a large part of Calabria. Bothen's - heirs have been seeking confirmation of these rights, which were confiscated in the sixteenth century. The Appeal Conrt ha s confirmed the confiscation.
