WELLINGTON CENTRE.

A meeting of the Wellington Bowling Centre was held last night. Mr. M. J. Hodgins presided. The Chairman reported that inquiries had been made in respect to the tabletesting of bowls, but that no definite conclusion had been arrived at. Bowlers were advised to send their bowls to the official tester as early as possible, as no testing would be done after the end of November. • ' The Wanganui Bowling Centre inti- : mated that it would be unable to send ' teams to Wellington this season on account of heavy engagements being entered into, but that a visit from teams from Wellington would be welcomed. A communication was received from the Executivo . Committee of the Dominion of New Zealand Bowlinj? Association stating that there was no difficulty in regard to the suggested alteration of the oentre's constitution giving a club power to elect a substitute to attend a meeting of the centre. It was decided to, accept an invitation from the Wairarapa Centre to send'teams to Wairarapa in the month of February. Mr. A. G. Edwards was appointed to represent the centre on the committee of members of sports bodies in respect to the building of a pavilion on the Basin Reserve. A letter was received from the Nelson Centre enclosing an itinerary of the proposed visit of Wellinifton bowlers to Nelson. It was decided to accept any arJ rangements that may be made by Nelson, and as a number of bowlers have been provided for, it was resolved to invite bowlers who had not already sent in their names, who were desirous of making the trip, to do so as early as possible. It was also decided to accept an invitation to visit Blenheim. The eight irinks to visit Nelson and Marlborough leave for Nelson on 21st November.
