HIS MAJESTY'S THEATRE.

A crowded audience testified to the popularity of the new bill at the Fuller Vaudeville house last night. From the moment of her entry the audience and dainty Jennie Hartley were en rapport; they gave her a clamorous welcome, and were loth to see the end of her snappy turn. A radiant little person, a charming dancer, a sweet songstress who fives novel expression to tuneful songs, uid a vivacious little mimic. She sang several numbers in her inimitable way, including "The List Train Home"; <rO-hi-o" (in which the captivating artiste does a nimble step-dance); ' 'It's Hard When You Can't Go Home" (dramatic monologue); "When I'm a Lady in. Society," and, in response to insistent demands for a reappearance, the old favourite, "You'd be Surprised," in which the subtle sense of humour with which the star is gifted finds full scope. Miss Hartley changes her costume for every song, and ■wears some ravishing gowns. Her reception last night was a fitting tribute to her art. She received floral offerings, and had to bow her acknowledgments several times.
