RATE DEMANDS
TO BE SENT OUT THIS WEEK.
The first batch of the half-yearly rate demand notices, those for ,tho Northland distridr. will bo sent out before the ond of the present week, and the issue will proceed steadily thereafter. Partly as the result of the new property valuations, the city's annual income from rates will now amount to £300,000, an increase of £45,000, as compared with last year. The inclusion of tho Miramar area in the city this -year will also result in swelling the total rate receipt's by a sum of £12,000. The next lot of rating notices are due to be despatched to ratej payers on 2nd December.
