NO UNIDENTIFIED SHELL-SHOCK CASES. The following memorandum has been received from the High Commissioner: — "Several letters have been received in this Department from relatives in New Zoaland of soldiers who have been reported killed in action/but whose graves have not yet been located, from which it would appear that there has been, a persistent rumour in New Zealand to the effect' that there are numbers of soldiers iii hospital at Brighton suffering from shell-shock or loss of memory, and who shave not been identified. ■ Occasionally the writer has stated that he or she has been informed by spiritualist mediums that his or her. son is an inmate of such an institution." N Sir Jameß Allen adds that the War Office assured him some time ago that there was only one unidentified soldier patient, and that he was known to be a member of the Imperial Forces. This case has now been cleared up, and there are no longer any cases/of soldiers under care for mental troubles wliose identity is not known.
