MELBOURNE, This Day.
The Senate, on a motion for adjournment, moved by Senator Lynch, discussed the situation in Ireland. Senator Ljaich advocated the acceptance of General Smuts's plan as the basis for settlement. Other speakers, including the Minister of Repatriation, supported Senator Lynch's views, and all* expressed the hope that the negotiations now in progress would not prove a failure.
