NEW ZEALAND UNION

MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE MEETS.

A meeting of the Management Committee of the New Zealand Rugby Union was held last evening, Mr. G. W. Slade presiding. An application \was received from the Manawatu Eugby Union for the MaorisSpringboks match to be played at Palmerston North. It was decided to reply that the committee regretted that the match could not be played there, and had been set down for Napier. „

In reply to a suggestion for a grandstand charge of Is 6d for the Springboks match, the Marlborough Union was advised that the charges could not be altered, as uniformity at all matches was imperative.

A letter to the Australian represents-

tive in England (Dr. L! G. Brown) was forwarded by the secretary of the Mew South Wales Rugby Union. It referred to the acceptance of the French toirr to Australasia in 1922. To the New South Wales Union secretary the date of departure, 15th May, appeared very much too late. Assuming only a three weeks' programme in Africa, it would' mean that the French team would scarcely leave Durban before Ist July, arriving at Sydney about : the Ist August, and having no time left to play in New Zealand. , i

The question of admission of soldier patients at the Waipukurau Military Sanatorium to theSpringboksi match at Napier was referred to the Hawkesj Bay Rugby Union for necessary action.

Notification was received, that the Boundaries Commission appointed .at the annual meeting of the ' New Zealand Rugby "Union to consider the boundaries of the Waikato Rugby Union (late the South Auckland Rugby Union) would sit at Hamilton to-day (25th). It was regretted that the lateness of the notice would prevent a delegate from the N.Z.R.U. being present.

A request from the North Otago Rugby Union for a match with the French team next season was noted.

Mr: S. F. Wilson, of Christchurch,. advised that Mr. M'Cully would act as manager of the New Zealand team (to play New South Wales) at Christchurch. An invitation was received from the Australian Club to the New South Wales, footballers to attend a social gathering in Wellington.
