MEETING OF MANAGEMENT

COMMITTEE.

The -weekly meeting of the Wellington Football Association was held last evening at the V.M.C.A. Mr. W. Auld was in the chair.

Mr. C. F. Ward, referee to the junior cup tie,- Thorndon v. .Gas Company, reported a player of the latter team for kicking an opponent. After evidence had been taken, it was decided to suspend the player for one playing Saturday. , ' •

Mr. D. Stirratt <vas appointed manager of the' third division team which is to play Palmerston North on Saturday. v

The Aotea Ladies' Club asked that a club match be played asl a curtain-raiser to the Brown Shield match v. : Auckland. It was decided to thank the 1 ladies for their offer, but arrangements had already been jnade for the curtain-raiser, Institute A playing Marist in the final for the third division championship. The Aotea Ladies' Club also wrote offering ■ their services for the forthcoming bazaar • on. behaJf of the Wellington Football Association.

The Auckland Football Association wrote stating they were not in favour of a Wellington referee, and suggested a referee from Otago, for the Brown Shield Imatch on 3rd September. ' Itwas decided to ask the New Zealand Council to appoint a referee with the least possible expense for all concerned.

It was decided .to award the protest of Marist (N.) v. Miramar Rangers to Maxist, on account of the Rangers playing a boy over age. , Challenges will be accepted from Canterbury fourth % and fifth class .teams to play Wellington on 10th September.

The following will represent Wellington fourth . division :—Donaldson (Y.M. C.A.), goal; Gill (Institute), D. Price (V.M.C.A.), backs; half-backs, 1. Burke jMarist), Dixon (Institute), Barton (Marlst); forwards, Nicolle (Institute), Dempster (Institute!, Orr (V.M.C.A.), Russell (Karori), Stark (V.M.C.A.). ' ■
