BASKETBALL
Despite the fact that Saturday was not, an "ideal 1 ' day for basketball, tho matoh between Gilby'a College Old Girls and Gilby's College Day Girls, which was played on the Technical College grounds, proved to be very interesting to onlookers. From the time tho ball was thrown up, between the "jumping centres," the gam© was good throughout. The goal-throwers for- Old Girls were very sure, and although the ball was very often in tho hands of the Day Girls' goal-throwers, the shots were not so accurate. When the whistle was blown for half-time, tho score was Old Girls 8, Day Girls 2. After the spell, the-game became faster, the Day Girls putting up a bigger fight than during the first half. The Old Girl defenders proved too good for the Day Girl goal-throwers, and the game ended Old Girls 14, Day Girls 6. '
