REVISION OF RULES
LONDON, 16th August. The Imperial Cricket Council hae referred the question of revision of law 9, relative to the protection and rolling of the wi6ket, to a special general meeting of the M.C.C. The principle of s , the eight-ball over for Australia was approved, and Will also come before the M.O.C. meeting. The council agreed to' send an English team to South Africa in the winter of 1922-23.
LLaw 9 reads: " The ground shall not be rolled; watered, covered, mown, or beaten during a match, except before the commencement of each innings and of each day's play, when, unless the inside object, the ground shall be' ewept r*id rolled_ for not more^thaai ten minutes. ' This shall not prevent the batsman, from beating the ground with his bat,-, nor the batsman nor bowler from usini sawdust in order to obtain a proper foothold."]
