WAR FUNDS COUNCIL
. • » After discussing the position in regard to th« War Funds Council, deal* with elsewhere in this issue, the Advisory Board 1 of the New Zealand War Relief Societies' Federation passed a motion at to-day's meeting as follows,:—"That the Advisory Board is of opinion : (a) That the War Funds Council should be a bjbdiy representative th-roughont the Dominion of patriotic organisations and the soldiers' interests, and should inclad® men experienced ,in the administration of war relief funds. It is- considered that the number should not exceed ten, which should include a local sub-committee of two to act with the Minister in dealing with matters of urgency, (b) That the Hon. the Minister of Internal Affairs should be chairman of the council, and, as soon as practicable, it should be placed on an independent self-supporting basis, and the administration of its affairs detached from any Government Department, (c) That the' Hon. the Minister be respectfully informed that this matter is one of extreme urgency."
