SUBURBS DEFENCE RIFLE CLUB
ANNUAL DINNER.
There was'a large attendance of dub members "and followers of the sport at the annual dinner and presentation of prizes in connection with the Wellington Suburbs Defence Rifle Club, held last Saturday evening. Mr. W. J. Fellingluun (president) occupied the chair,. Those present included the Mayor (Mr. E. A Wright, M.P.,. vice-president); Sir John P. Luke, C.M.G., M.P (patron), and Colonel R. J. Collins, V.D., 0.M.G.. The toasts honoured included : "The King," "Kindred Associations," proposed by the president; "The Champion," 'proposed by DeputyPresident Smart, and responded to-by Mr. 0. Whiteman (champion); "Kindred Clubs," proposed by Mr. P. D, Bareham; "Parliament," proposed by Mr. Bertram, and responded to by the Miiyoi (Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P.), and Sir John Luke, M.P.; and "Donors of Prizes," proposed by 1 Mr. Grimstone and responded «> by Peputy-Presid'ent Hunt. During the evening an v enjoyable programme of musical items was contributed by Messrs. Loodsman, ' C'ulverwelr, G. Irwin, and others.
