Replying to a very large deputation from the Auckland Hydro-Electric League, the Hon. J. G. Ooates said the Awapuni scheme must be a commercial undertaking. Once started, it must be carried to completion. He would not start until he saw that the financial position was clear. As to tke probable date he could not say,-pending the return of Mr. Massey.
