It is learned that the United States Supreme Court will be asked to declare the Japanese a white race, and thus entitled to American citizenship. The request is to be made in the oasa of Takao Oaawa v. United States, in which the petitioner is seeking to establish the right to become a naturalised American. A former Attorney-General, Mt. Wickershajn, is appearing for Osawa, and will claim that the Japanese descended from Ainus and Yamatos, both being Caucasian, "which was originally Mediterranean stock.
