In the Wairarapa-Wellington match, the visitors had much the best of the first spell, but only managed to score 3 points—a try by Neighbours. Several good phamces to,score were spoilt by infringements. Ih the second spell the Wellington backs showed up better, and, (after a period of play in their favour, Gibson kicked a penalty goal, making the scores' even. , '
' The. final score was : Wairarapa, 11 ; Wellington, 6. Birch and G. Knowles each scored a toy for Wairarapa, J. Hutana converting one. Marris obtained a try for Wellington.
