UNSUITABLE SITE AT VILLERSBRETONNEUX.

(AUSTRALIAN - NBW ZEALAND CASI.I AtSftCIATION.) : LONDON, 10th August. t An, arrangement was made to erect a memorial at Villers-Bretonneux, costing the Commonwealth £100,000. Ten acres of ground have already been purchased for the^ purpose, and now it is reported that the site is unsuitable. It is inaccessible, is off the high. road, and invisible to ordinary passers-by. Mr. M. L. Shepherd (Official Secretary -lor the Commonwealth), who has seen the locality, reports against it. Mr. Hughes proposes to inspect the place himself ;■ meanwhile all development has been delayed.
