MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE,

The Management Committee of the New Zealand Bugby Union met this week, Mr. G. W. Slade presiding. There wero also present: Messrs. S. S. Dean, A. Griffiths, H. Paton, JR. ,T. Bailey, and H. E. Combs (secretary). A letter from Mr. P. Dorrington (Dannevirke), suggesting that a match with New South Wales should he played at Daimevirko, was received. Mr. A. Grace wrote with reference to a match between the North Island Maoris and the Springboks.—lt was decided that such a match was impossible. An invitation was received from the Wellington Navy League for the Springboks to attend a complimentary dance on the 12th September. The Wellington Competitions Society invited the South African ami New Zealand representatives to the second demonstration concert on 16th* September. The invitations were referred to the Entertainment Committee. Regarding the disqualification of several players by She Waikato Rugby Union, it was decided to advise the union that the players should be given fourteen days to show cause why they should.not be disqualified. - A notification from Mr. J. Lynakey (Wairarapa) that he was bringing down two teams of schoolboys to play the Petone schoolboys, arid suggesting that the match ■ should be played as a cur-tain-raiser,: was referred to the Wellington Rugby Union. 1 . , The selectors were instructed to choose a New Zealand team to play a Teat with New South Wales at Christchurch.
