The Imperial War Relief Fund has issued an appeal signed by the Lord 1 Mayor, -the Archbishop of Canterbury, and many notables, for help for Russia. The funds collected are to be administer-, ed by the Red Cross. The Daily Telegraph's correspondent at Berlin states that Lenin, in a disingenuous appead for help, seeks to make it appear to the Russian proletariat fnat whatever help comes will be by th» efforts of the international prol|etari»t, not from the capitalists. ROME, 10th August. The Pope,' in a letter to the Papal Secrotary -of State, .invited the Christians of the world to help famine-stricken Russia. WARSAW, 10th August. There is a great fire at Pinsk. Over three hundred houses and churches have been destroyed. The forests outside the town also are on fire. Terrible stories come from Saratoff (600 miles south-east of Moscow), where parents are drowning their children to save them from starvation.
