INTER-CLUB TOURNEY.

The inter-club billiard tourney games played in the showrooms of Billiards, Ltd., last evening were both very interesting and closely contested.'. In tho game between Tucker '(Federal) and Devine (Petone W.M.) both players.kept together until" towards, the end of play,/ when Tucker compiled a nice break; of 47. He ran to 300 when Devine was 218. The best breaks were:—Tucker— 47; 27, 21; Devine—22, 21, 20. The second game was between Tapp (Wellington W.M. Club) and Harrison (Post and. Telegraph Club), and it provided a good deal of excitement. Until approaching 200 the, scoring was practically even.! Tapp then went ahead, but his opponent managed to catch him again, and thereafter play was every keen. There was great excitement when tho scores stood at 299 all. Tapp played for a cannon, which he missed, but he fluked the red, thus winning tho game. Final: tapp—3oo; Harrison—299. The best breaks were: —Harrison—32; Tapp' —24, 24. ; Only one ga'mo in tho semifinal will be played this i evening, between the two club mates, Spencer and Tucker.
