ST. MARY'S BAZAAR
' With only a^ few more days to run, bazaar patrons, who for o.ne reason or another were unable to attend up to /the present, are now putting in an appearance at the Town Hall, and materially helping to increase the success of-St. 1' Mary's Bazaar. The Town Hall )*re--Bente'd a lively sceno last evening'with .a pleasure-seeking, money-spending crowd, out for an enjoyable time and anxious to assist a deserving undertaking. Stalls, side-shows, and the numerous games of skill were kept .very busy. . During the evening the pupils of Mr. Joe Knowsley gave a first-class exhibition \ of dancing items. A, very pretty Hawaiian ballet, with the pupils: of the school as flula dancers, Miss Evelyn , "Wright a? solo dancer, and Misses Thyra Williams, Joy Weston, and little Betty Hoare, singing, " Hawaii, I'm Lonesome for You," was most effective ■, and met with rounds of hearty applause from the audience, who insisted on an encore. Other items were a smartly-rendered Irish reel and jig by V. Pritehard, K. Evans, B. Ward, and E. Wright, a daintily-danced operatic polka by Miss Rene-Rogers, a skipping dance, and a charming dance, "Hearts and Flowers," by Miss Noelin Pritehard. Braund's Orchestra accompanied and played selections during the evening. To-night the Pierrots will appear in another of their excellent, programmes. '
Mrs. J. S. Johnson, has arranged a juvenile variety entertainment, to be held in St. Mark's Schoolroom, Sussexsquare, to-morrow evening. The programme appears in another column.
A very successful watlzing competition took place in connection with the Kilbirnie Hall weekly assembly on Saturday last; when 29 couples competed, providing a.keen contest. The winners were Miss H! Hyder and Mr. Vincent Tandy, who were awarded gold medals. The judges were Miss R. Werin and Mr. H. Edwards, whose decision met with universal approval. There was a large attendance. The floor, music, and management were excellent. The M.C.'s were Mr. C. Bleeze and Mr. C. Wood.
