DEATH OF A PRISONER
A man named Thomas Young, aged 56, a recent arrival from Dun«diiij wh^re he is said to have been in bwineM *» a. tailor, ; died at the Hospitiit »l nooii yesterday. Deceased was arrestad on the 3rd instant, on a charge o£ drunkenness, and ho Was subsequently rem.mtW for ft week's medical treatment. , Ho was attended at the gaol by-Dr. Giltrior, but as bis condition did not improvo ho wan ordered to the Publib Hospital, anil ytia admitted at 9 V o'clock yesterday morning. He died at midday, and it is thought that the cause of death was cbhsoihipHon. The Coroner, M-. F. K. Hunt, S,M.' will formally open an inquest this afternoon, and proceeding's will be adjourned until Thursday.
