UNUSUAL CASE.
(BI TeLIORAPB—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) GISBORNE, This Day. In the Arbitration Court, judgment wffi given for defendant in a claim for compensation (£5000) made 'by Harry Dugany. against the Gisbofne Sheepfarmers' Company. The case presented Unusual features. Plaintiff, engaged ift general work, was sent to the blacksmith's shop as striker, and whilst using a hammer, felt a pain in the chest, accompanied by dizfcmess.- Since then he has been unable to do anything but light work. Tile medical evidence was conflicting, but there was general agreement that plaintiff's heart w,as_ affectod. There was conflict, however, as to whether that condition was due to sudden strain. The Court discussed the medical testimony with Dr. Pilchatt, of Dunedin, artel stated that there was a. probabalily that plaintiffs heart was in ail unhealthy condition previous-list, the presumption beiii# that the hamnier fouhd the trouble out, but <3id -not cause it.
