ORGAN RECITAL.
Another fine recital was given in the Town Hall by the City Organist (Mr. Bernard Page) last night. Handel's Concerto in D minor,- as arranged for the organ by the late Alex Guilmant, was the opening number, and, beautifully played, it was greatly appreciated. Then followed Corbett's "Reve d'Amour," light fare,, obviously to the taste of the audience. As usual, there was a Cesar Franck item, "Pastorale" (Op. 19), and this was followed by Cantilene." The principal item of the evening wa^ the Prelude <to Act I of "Tristan and Isolde," which is Wagner at his best.. All the emotions of love and despair with which- the prelude is weighted ,was drawn out by Mr. Pa<?e. It was a splendid performance, and the audience- was rightly emphatic in its appreciation.
