BILLIARDS TOURNEY
The inter-club provincial billiards tourney was advanced another stage last evening when, at the showrooms of Billiards,, Ltd., two interesting matohes were decided. Spencer (Federal Club) met Moore (Pastimes Club), in the first game. The former playing a consistent stick, and' scoring rapidly, ran out to 300 when his opponent was 185. The best breaks were: Spencer: 35 and 25, and Moore, 18, 18, 19. The second game was between Goodwin (Civil Service Club) and Tucker (an ex-araateur champion), Federal Club. The run of the balls favoured Tucker during the best part of the game, and he got the lead early. He played safety, and gave his opponent, Goodwin, very few chances. When his score was 239, Tucker mad© a break of 59, and reached his 300 points when Goodwin was 204. The best breaks were: Tucker 59, 23, and Goodwin 32 and 25.
The games for this evening are: —Devine (Petone Working Men's Club) v. Sinolair (Post Office Pastimes Club), Stone (Pctono Working Men's Club) v. Tapp (Wellington Working MiuVOiub).
