STRAND THEATRE.
"Poppy," the novel of South Arfi->----can life by Cynthia Stockley, has been adapted for the screen, with Norma Talmadge in the name part. The picture gives a striking rendition of the story, the production throughout being above' the average. As the girl who graduated from drudgery to fame and success, Miss Talmadge is remarkably good—the many-sided character of the novelist's "Poppy" being excellently portrayed. She is well supported fiy a strong cast headed by Eugene O'Brien. The comedy in the programme is supplied by Roscoe Arbuckle in '.'The Waiters' Ball," and the lates* Gazette is t also shown. ,
