CHAMPION OF CHAMPIONS.
Tho annual champion of champions rinks contest, under the auspices of the Wellington Bowling Centre, was commenctid on the Victoria Bowling Club's green this morning. ' The green was playing well considering the light rain that had fallen overnight. One round was played this morning and resulted as follows:— First Round. Newtown : Bead, Priddle, Wylie, Eussel> (is), 28; Central: Marshall, Anderson, Allan, Fisher (s), 19. ; Petone : Elyines, Borthwick, Doneghue, Hay (s), 32; Eastbourne : Clunies. Ross, M'Keegan, Mackenzie, Munro (s), 13. ' ...
Hataitai: Jeffery, Ramsay, Feilding, Ardell (s), 23 ; Island Bay : Hanson, Clarkd, Willoughby, Edwards (s), 14. Victoria: Thornley, Stevens, Tucker, Bolton (a), 28; Kelbum: Caughley, Williams, Knowles. Stephens (s), 15
Seatoun : M'Cune., Magill, Lauchlan, North (5),'26; Karori: Jordan, Edwards, Burn, Cooper (s), 19.
Wellington : Campbell, Waddell, H. Mayes, J. J. Roberts (s), won- by default against Lower Hutt. Raven's Lyall Bay team won by default against Johnscinville.
The second round was commenced this afternoon, the draw being : Seatoun v. Petone, Lyall Bay v. Newtown, Victoria v. Hataitai, Wellington a bye. The third round was set down to commence at 4 o'clock. The final will be played to-morrow afternoon.
