SATURDAY'S YACHTING

On account of a flat calm the yachts engaged in the Port Nicholson Club's first and second class races on Saturday afternoon did-not finish the course in the prescribed time, and the races were abandoned. The race for tho Clark and Morris trophy attracted threo entries —Geisha. Tiri, and Nan. Tin was outclassed throughout the race, which took place round a course from Clyde-quay Wharf, round Jorning-ham Buoy, round a buoy off Kaiwarra, and back to a lino between flic south end of Queen's Wlmrf and Clydequay Wharf. ■ Nan and Geisha fought a, spirited race, and on the windward work bom Kaiwarra home were on challenging terms with one another all the time. Oft Pipitea they split tacks. Geisha gradually improved her position, and won comfortably. Geisha 1, Nan 2. Tiri 3.
