PRE-MILLENNIAL ADVENT CONFERENCE

On Saturday evening, the Rev. W. Lamb, of Sydney, addressed a largo audience in the Concert Chamber of the Town Hall on "The Modern World and the Coming of the Antichrist." The speaker described a time that wa3 coming when everything would be federated—nations, churches, unions, ote. —and all would gather round a strange and startling personality called in the Bible the Antichrist. Tho world wase preparing for his coming, as was shown in all tho cults that were springing up in opposition to Christianity. All these cults were evil. Spiriti-sin was but another name for demonism, as could bo seen any day in ite results, for many of its devotees found their way either to a lunatic asylum or a suicide's grave. The concluding meetings of the Conference weru held on Sunday in the Town Hall. In the evening Mr. Lamb delivered an address to a largo gathering, in which ho emphasised the great truth for which tho Pro-Millennial Advent Association stood. The gospel age which had lasted over nineteen centuries had nearly run ite course, and the end would be judgment. This judgment must begin at the House of God. The Church had been put to the tost, and found wanting. The ago began with love and burning zeal in the Church, and ended with the Church wealthy and socially powerful, but with Christ outside. Thousands had left it and were to be found in the various cults— theosophy, spiritism, Christian Science, New Thought, eto. - In the lives even of professing Christians, thoro was little room for Christ. They heard, but aid not understand the Message of the Gospel. Travellers on tho road to Eternity must think with solemnity of tho oncl of tho journey and prepare for it.
