STATUTES CONSOLIDATION
Cabinet yesterday approved formally of the appointment of Mr. Justice Chapican as compiler of statutes. The statutes'- were consolidated in 1908, but since that time there- has been much amending legislation. Last year the law affecting mum'cipalties, counties, and health was consolidated. Mr. Justice Chapman tVill commence his new duties on liis retirement from the Supreme. Court bench next month. As each consolidation is complete 1 it will require to bo passed by Parliament hi the same way as » w law.
