OPOTIKI, 17th February. The Parliamentary party was met ,by the Opotiki Committee at the Nukuhou butter factory at noon, to-day, where they had luncheon. The party afterwards viewed the Ohiwa harbour at Kutarere and inspected the site for the new wharf, which is now being erectei They were taken up the rich Waiotahi valley, visited the soldiers' settlement arid Woodlands estate, drove over portion ..of the Opotiki flat, and arrived at Opotiki at 6.30 o'clock in the evening, where they were entertained at a social evening at the theatre, which was filled. The party received a cordial reception. Speeches were made by Mayor Johnson, Messrs. K. S. Williams, G. Witty, and G. R. Sykes, M.P.'s, M. L. Reading (Lyttelton Times),-and J. T. Paul (Otago Daily- Times). "■ ;. Hockly, M.P., in proposing a. vote of thanks fqr the reception, and entertainment, referred to the excellent manner in which the tour had been organised.
